What’s Out of Sight is Out of Mind: Ban Primate Experiments

Monkey

I must bring to your attention the tortures and struggles that primates are facing as you read this post.  During these nasty and pointless experiments, Humane Research Australia is doing something about it.  Please like, subscribe, comment, and share the YouTube channel, “HumaneResearchAust,” as well as their Facebook page.  We need to raise awareness for animals in labs so people know what is happening in there.  What is out of mind is out of sight.  We must not turn a blind eye to their suffering.  They also have a website that can be found at http://www.banprimateexperiments.org.au/

“Hidden away in Australian research laboratories, hundreds of primates are being used in a variety of biomedical experiments. They are subjected to a wide range of procedures including brain and vision experiments, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), studies and heart research. These primates – macaques, marmosets and baboons – are sourced from three government-funded, research-specific breeding colonies located within Australia.”

The Facebook page of Humane Research Australia states: “Hidden away in Australian research laboratories, hundreds of primates are being used in a variety of biomedical experiments. They are subjected to a wide range of procedures including brain and vision experiments, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) studies and heart research. These primates – macaques, marmosets and baboons – are sourced from three government-funded, research-specific breeding colonies.

They are sentient beings – not “tools” for research!

About the author

I began this website as a way to showcase that going vegan is easy, cost-effective, delicious, and most importantly, fun. No animal has to suffer or die for a meal. Since the age of four, I have not eaten meat. I learned at a young age that the family puppy shared the same types of emotions as wild animals and farm animals. I never thought that it was okay to exploit them. Twelve years ago, I gave up cheese, not knowing the suffering through which cows had gone. I am dedicated to the vegan lifestyle, animal advocacy, and in furthering the social justice movements for all people, animals, and the planet. I am pleased to announce that since this blog began in 2014, there are many more vegan businesses from restaurants, a fully vegan shopping center, a school that only serves vegan food, and a vegan medical center. Although I have no affiliation with them, I feel that it is noteworthy to say that the movement is growing, and I hope to see the property status of animals one day change to acknowledge them as "persons," not things.
