I have proof that God exists. If I can enjoy hummus as much as I do, then I know that I was given the faculties of taste and smell. I also know that animals were also put on this Earth with those same feelings. Many may wonder how there could be a God who would give us such wonderful abilities, yet allow there to be so much suffering in the world. My answer is that God made us in God’s image. We are born with a pure body, mind, and spirit. God trusts us to do good, knowing that the presence of good is impossible to exist without the existence of evil. We have forsaken God by following God for our own selfish pleasures, failing to remember that a part of God is within us. Therefore, we ought to embrace all people, animals, and the environment. We should not harm a thing. As God is a Creator, we have a responsibility to recognize all types of people to be as unique as ourselves, and to be free as one people; As we are to have such “dominion” over the animals as so many believe, we are to respect their existence enough not to use them, nor to kill them, for any purpose whatsoever, but to see their life’s existence as having a similar worth to our own. God did not give us people to hate for slavery or racism and animals to kill for food and accessories. God gave us people and animals for us to share a common world… And, hummus for all!

About the author

I began this website as a way to showcase that going vegan is easy, cost-effective, delicious, and most importantly, fun. No animal has to suffer or die for a meal. Since the age of four, I have not eaten meat. I learned at a young age that the family puppy shared the same types of emotions as wild animals and farm animals. I never thought that it was okay to exploit them. Twelve years ago, I gave up cheese, not knowing the suffering through which cows had gone. I am dedicated to the vegan lifestyle, animal advocacy, and in furthering the social justice movements for all people, animals, and the planet. I am pleased to announce that since this blog began in 2014, there are many more vegan businesses from restaurants, a fully vegan shopping center, a school that only serves vegan food, and a vegan medical center. Although I have no affiliation with them, I feel that it is noteworthy to say that the movement is growing, and I hope to see the property status of animals one day change to acknowledge them as "persons," not things.
